About Us

More than just training

Pinnacle Training North East provides hands-on vocational training that helps young people build practical skills, gain recognised qualifications and take their first steps towards a rewarding career.

Who we are

Pinnacle Training is a vocational training provider with centres in Peterlee and Sunderland, working with schools, young people and learners right across the North East.

We exist for the learners who switch off in a classroom and switch on the moment they’ve got a tool in their hand. That isn’t a lack of ability — it’s a mismatch between how someone learns and how they’re being taught. Give that same young person a wall to build, a ceiling to skim, a frame to cut and fix, a floor to set out, and you see something different: focus, pride, and a reason to turn up next week.

How we work

Our courses span the trades that keep the region building — bricklaying, plastering, carpentry and joinery, tiling and more — each one taught by tradespeople who have done the job for a living, in workshops set up to mirror a real site.

Learners work to real tolerances and finish real jobs. They set out, they measure, they cut, they fix, and they put right their own mistakes, because that’s how the skill actually goes in. Many try more than one trade with us before settling on the one that fits — and knowing what you don’t want is worth something too.

Alongside the trade itself, they pick up what employers quietly care about most: turning up on time, working safely, taking instruction, getting on with the squad. We keep groups small enough that nobody disappears at the back.

Where it leads

Every programme builds towards NCFE Level 1 credits on a structured qualification pathway — a recognised foundation for an apprenticeship, a college place, or a first job in the trades.

For some learners that’s a career decided. For others it’s proof that they’re good at something, which is often the part that had been missing.

Working with schools

We partner with schools across the region to deliver alternative and post-16 provision for learners who need a different setting to do their best work. If you’re a school or a parent wondering whether this would suit someone in particular, come and see a session — it explains itself far better than a brochure does.
